It is always exciting when something superb & unknown like this turns up. An explanatory note at the end of the book shows that these superb uniform plates were specially commissioned from James Thiriar by a collector, and subsequently sold to the Anne S.K.Brown Library. Here are 96 colour uniform plates of the opposing armies at Waterloo 36 of the French Army, 25 of the English Army, 19 Prussian and 18 Dutch-Belgian. Sadly the collector died before Thiriar could produce any more.
